Well, guys, it’s official! Apple’s providing me with a shiny, shiny WWDC ticket, so I’ll be at Moscone in a couple weeks shamefully slobbering over whatever new scraps of news thrown to us.
I had a couple thoughts, though:
Hey, who are you?
At the beginning of every year, I find myself going through that period of “hey, where are you from? What’s your major? What do you do for fun? dohgodkillmenow.” Now, we’ll all be wearing nametags, which will help some of us identify each other, but I saw some of the Adium chaps last year doing something that’d help start conversations much faster.
Why don’t we all print out the icons of our projects on little 2 inch squares and stick them in our badges? Then we can easily identify each other and say “ohman you’re the guy who made Awesome Thing! Here is a puppy.”
I want to meet you!
Last year, I went to WWDC after Caltech had kicked the crap out of me for a year. I hadn’t coded in months, so I got inspired and went back to my hotel room every night to furiously work with the new APIs.
None of that this time around! I want to meet all of you, so shoot me a message on Twitter or on AIM and we can grab lunch or something.

we should really do that whole band thing >.>
Grr, I paid for a student developer connection membership only to miss the deadline for the ticket application by an hour. Seriously, who puts deadlines at 5PM?
Anyway, I’m totally jealous and I hope you have fun!
haej, i’ll be there… i owe you a beer, surely =)
i’ll be the tall, crazy italian one =)
Andy,
What are you doing for Apple under internship? Are you trying to get a job with Apple?
I’m working with the Install and Setup on some future stuff. I still have two more years of Caltech, so no, I’m not really actively pursuing any full-time jobs at the moment.
